Porsche 911 turbo

911

The 911 Turbo is one of the best known and most coveted Porsche models on the market, with its origin tracing back to 1974.

New for the latest model year are a handful of key changes, including a more powerful - and yet - more fuel efficient engine. This entirely new engine - the first in the Turbo's storied history - is comprised of a new 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder, which is 13.2 lbs lighter than its predecessor, which boasts twin turbochargers and Porsche's Variable Turbine Geometry technology. The engine also gained direct fuel injection - adding to the increased power output and reduced emissions.

Horsepower is rated at 500 - up 20 from the previous model, while max torque comes in at 56 lb-ft when the Sport Chrono Package is added. Fuel economy is up 13 percent, to a combined rating of 21 mpg (17 city, 25 highway).

Acceleration from zero-to-60 mph blasts by in just 3.2 seconds with the seven-speed PDK dual clutch transmission, with a top track speed of 194 mph.

Base price of 911 turbo is $137,500

Rolls Royce Phantom

In the world of art, the Baroque period is often characterized as Renaissance with the volume turned up to 11. In the same vein, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is a luxury sedan with levels of opulence, prestige and grandiosity dialed up to the maximum degree.
In keeping with Rolls-Royce tradition, the Phantom uses an enormous naturally-aspirated twelve-cylinder engine. It displaces 6.75 liters and produces 453 horsepower at 5350 rpm and 531 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm. New for the latest model is an eight-speed automatic transmission, which helps the rear-drive Phantom waft from zero-to-60 mph in under six second despite the sedan's massive 5,800-pound curb weight. Fuel economy is about what one would expect - 11 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.

Base price of Phantom is $398,970

Lexus LFA Supercar

The Lexus LFA features an all-new 4.8-liter V10 developed exclusively for use in the high-dollar supercar. Power is rated at 552 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Although maximum twist doesn't come on until the needle sweeps past the 6,800rpm mark, Toyota says that 90 percent of the LFA's torque is available between 3,700rpm and the screaming 9,000rpm redline.
Because it is still a Lexus, the LFA is relatively tame-sounding at lower speeds thanks to a multi-stage exhaust system that keeps an exhaust valve closed under 3,000 rpms for reduced drone. The system opens up above 3,000 rpms to let loose a unique roar that Lexus says is akin to F1 race cars.

Power is sent to the LFA's rear wheels via a paddle-shifted six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox. Set low and back in the LFA's chassis, the unit contributes to the car's nearly ideal 48:52 front-to-rear weight distribution.

The LFA also features Carbon Ceramic Material brakes, which are both lighter than steel and more fade-resistant. In total, the LFA weighs in at 3,263 lbs.

Base Price of LFA is $375,000

Bentley Continental GT

Bentley Continental GT

Dartz Bentley Continental GT SS 1

After essentially reinventing Bentley after its introduction in 2002, the automaker's Continental GT has become something of an icon among high-end super luxury coupes. Bentley chose the ever-popular "evolution over revolution" mantra for the redesigned Continental GT and GTC Convertible- with one twist: A nod to ever-stricter emissions standards.

Slotting beneath Bentley's W12-powered Continental range, a new 4.0-liter V8 model promises much improved fuel economy while retaining most of the 12-cylinder's power. Bentley says the eight-cylinder is good for 500 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque, falling just short of the W12's 567 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the V8 is capable of propelling the heavy coupe to a 4.6-second zero-to-60 sprint and a top speed in excess of 180 mph. Fuel economy comes in at 15 city, 24 highway miles per gallon.

Although the V8-equipped Continental GT is technically the range's entry-level vehicle, Bentley isn't treating it as such. V8 models come fitted with a unique black gloss matrix grille with chrome frame and center bar, a red enamel Bentley ‘B' badge, and a black matrix three-segment lower front bumper divided by distinctive body-color strakes. Out back, the car gets unique chromed ‘figure eight' exhaust tailpipes, a dark lower valance and a red enamel ‘B' trunklid badge.

Base Price of Continental GT is $212,600
